AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Field Supervisor

LOCATION: Northwest Alabama

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities will be planning, preparing, and overseeing timber sales, including harvest area identification and set-up. The successful candidate must have an understanding of state and federal regulations, BMP’s, and SFI principals, and must be able to interact with private landowners and local agencies. Other responsibilities may include assisting with other related duties as needed. Occasional out of town work may be required.

REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. A minimum of a BS in Forestry from an accredited Forestry school is required. Five or more years of experience in a similar forestry field is preferred. Computer skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and GIS software will be necessary. Good written and verbal communication skills are required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes the ability to traverse distances over one mile on uneven and rugged terrain; work in outdoor forested areas for extended periods in a variety of environmental conditions; occasionally carry 5 to 10 pounds of equipment over longer distances for extended periods of time and 50 pounds over shorter distances. Must be able to work independently during a work week and complete tasks in a timely manner.

SALARY

Forester

LOCATION: Thomasville, Georgia

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities will be completing forest inventories, timber marking; collecting GPS field data, logging supervision, reforestation, timber-sale preparations, prescribed burning, and other detailed organizational skills with files and paper work. Occasional travel out of town will be required for inventory work.

REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. A minimum two year forestry degree is required. Computer skills in Microsoft Office Excel and Word will be necessary. Good written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience in GIS is a plus.

Forest Inventory Analyst

LOCATION: Albany, Georgia

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities will focus on forestland inventory analysis and reporting with F&W’s TIMBER® inventory software, forestland inventory project management, inventory and analysis support for F&W’s branch offices, and application of growth & yield software to assist in investments analysis. Additional duties will include inventory map creation with ESRI ArcMap.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in forestry or closely related field with experience in forest sampling, mensuration, statistics, and forest measurements. Strong technical and quantitative skills are required. Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Access, and Word. Proficiency with inventory software, growth and yield modeling and ESRI GIS software is needed.

Forest Planning Analyst

LOCATION: Albany, Georgia

RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities will focus on growth and yield to support cash flow analysis, harvest scheduling, and maintaining client forestland databases.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience with a graduate degree in forestry or finance. Applicants should have experience with growth and yield software, relational databases, cash flow analysis, timberland valuation, and economic analysis. Strong technical and quantitative skills are required. Familiarity with GIS software and Remsoft Analytics is a plus.
